Supermarket fridges and freezers sabotaged overnight in Sweden and Belgium in suspected cyberattack

Refrigeration systems at dozens of supermarkets in Sweden and Belgium were disrupted overnight into Monday, 2 November. Several ICA stores in Sweden say their fridges and freezers were hacked and set to about 50°C, and Coop reports problems at six stores. In Belgium, Delhaize confirms an "IT incident" at about 40 stores, Carrefour at 15 and Spar at about five. Stores had to throw food away. Nobody has claimed responsibility, and no official link to last month's attack on French supermarket fridges has been confirmed.

FBI says North Korea was behind the $6.3bn Binance hack, the largest in crypto history; withdrawals reopen

Binance, the world's biggest cryptocurrency exchange, says a security incident on 29 October affected about $6.3bn of assets, making it the largest crypto hack on record. The FBI says North Korea's TraderTraitor group carried out the attack, confirming earlier findings by TRM Labs and Chainalysis. Binance says it will cover all losses and has already covered about 95% with company funds. On 1 November it reopened withdrawals for bitcoin, ether, BNB, XRP and some stablecoins, with more assets to follow in phases.
