Cookie policy

Last updated: 20 October 2026

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. Local storage works in a similar way but stays on your device. This page lists what Today News Brief uses and why.

Strictly necessary and functional

  • tnb-country (first-party cookie, 1 hour): your country code, used only to show the site in English or Romanian.
  • tnb-lang, tnb-theme, tnb-notif-choice, tnb-notif-later (local storage, until you clear it): your language, light/dark theme and notification-prompt choices.
  • Cloudflare security cookies (e.g. __cf_bm, up to 30 minutes) may be set to protect the site against bots and abuse.

Analytics

Cloudflare Web Analytics does not set cookies and does not track you across sites; it only gives us aggregated page statistics.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

When ads are shown, Google and its partners may set advertising cookies (for example __gads, __gpi, IDE, NID) to show ads, limit how often you see them, measure them and prevent fraud; with your consent, also to personalise ads. Google's consent message may store your choice in cookies such as FCCDCF and FCNEC. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, advertising cookies that require consent are only used after you agree in the consent message.

Embedded videos

YouTube and Facebook videos are not loaded until you click play, so they set no cookies before that.

How to change your choices

Use the “Privacy settings” link in the footer (when ads are active) to review your consent, change your Google ads settings, or delete and block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may affect how the site works.
