Editorial policy & corrections

Last updated: 20 October 2026

Our aim

To give readers in English and Romanian a short, accurate and fair account of the day's most important news, and to show clearly where every fact comes from.

Selection

We are selective: we publish stories with real public interest — major events in Romania and the world, decisions that affect people's lives, significant business, technology and science news, and a curated mix of sport, culture, lifestyle and cooking. We avoid clickbait.

Sourcing and verification

  • Every article names its main source in a “Source:” line; we rely on established news organisations, news agencies and official sources.
  • Key facts are cross-checked against other reliable sources whenever possible.
  • Unverified claims are attributed and labelled as such. We do not publish rumours as fact; reports of deaths or other sensitive events are published only after confirmation by family, officials or several reputable outlets.
  • We separate fact from opinion and do not present opinion as news.

Original writing

We write every brief in our own words and translate it ourselves; we never copy other publishers' articles. Direct quotes are short, in quotation marks and attributed. Every story is selected, checked against its sources and published under our editorial responsibility.

Photos and video

We only use images we have the right to use — mainly Creative Commons and public-domain photos from Wikimedia Commons, and Unsplash — each with a visible credit naming the author and licence. Illustrative or file photos are labelled. Videos are official embeds from the original publisher.

Breaking news and updates

BREAKING marks major developing events. When new facts emerge, we update the article and record the update time.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we correct it as quickly as possible. Significant corrections are noted at the end of the article. To report an error, email us with the article link and the correction (subject: “Correction”).

Right of reply

People and organisations named in our stories can ask to have their response or clarification published; we review every request fairly.

Independence, ads and sponsored content

Editorial decisions are ours alone. Advertising is served automatically by third parties and has no influence on our coverage. We do not publish paid articles disguised as news; any sponsored content would be clearly labelled “Sponsored”.
