About us
Today News Brief is an independent online news publication operated from Romania. We publish short, clear news briefs in English and Romanian about the most important stories from Romania and around the world: politics, business, technology, A.I., sport, culture, entertainment, lifestyle, travel and cooking.
What we do
Every story on Today News Brief is written in our own words. We follow reports from established news organisations, news agencies and official sources, check the key facts — against more than one source whenever possible — and publish an original summary in both languages. We do not copy or republish other publishers' articles.
How we source and credit
- Each article ends with a “Source:” line naming the main outlet or institution we relied on.
- Claims that cannot yet be confirmed independently are clearly presented as claims or as unconfirmed. We do not publish rumours as fact.
- We only use photos that are free to reuse (Creative Commons licences on Wikimedia Commons, public domain, Unsplash) and every photo carries a credit with its author and licence. File and illustrative photos are labelled as such.
- When a story develops, we update the article and show the update.
When we publish
A morning edition is published every day at 06:30 (Bucharest time), followed by breaking news and updates throughout the day. Stories marked BREAKING are major developing events.
How we work
Our editors rewrite each story in our own words, in English and Romanian. Every story is selected, checked against its sources and published under our editorial responsibility. Read our Editorial policy for details.
Independence and advertising
Today News Brief is free to read and may be supported by advertising. Advertisers have no influence on what we cover or how we cover it, and any sponsored content would always be clearly labelled.
