Romania switches to winter time tonight: clocks go back one hour
At 04:00 on Sunday, 25 October, clocks become 03:00, making Sunday the longest day of the year. CFR says train timetables do not change.

Romania returns to standard winter time in the night from Saturday to Sunday. At 04:00 summer time on Sunday, 25 October, clocks go back one hour to 03:00, so Sunday will be the longest day of the year, with 25 hours. Most phones and computers change automatically; wall clocks, ovens and car clocks need to be set by hand.
Romania will once again be two hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (UTC+2), on Eastern European Time. Neighbouring countries and the rest of the European Union make the change the same night, so the time difference with most European capitals stays the same. Summer time returns on the last weekend of March, in the night of 27 to 28 March 2027, when 03:00 becomes 04:00.
The national rail operator CFR Călători said the change does not alter the timetable in force. Passenger trains scheduled to leave their departure stations after 04:00 will leave at the times shown in the timetable, in Eastern European Time. Trains already running after 04:00 summer time will stop at their scheduled stations and wait there until the departure time in the new schedule, while those with only a short distance left will continue to their destination.
Because neighbouring countries also switch on 25 October, international trains will run between border stations according to the current timetable, CFR said. Mornings will be lighter for a few weeks after the change, but evenings will get dark noticeably earlier.
