Bollywood star Tiger Shroff escapes unhurt after gunmen open fire on his car in Mumbai
The 36-year-old actor was in a car leaving a football club in the suburb of Juhu on Sunday evening when at least two gunmen fired several shots at close range. Police say he suffered no gunshot wounds; local media report two people were injured, including his driver.

Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff has survived a shooting in Mumbai without sustaining any gunshot wounds, according to Indian police, who have opened an investigation. The 36-year-old was in a car leaving a football club in the suburb of Juhu on Sunday evening when the attack happened.
Video published by several Indian outlets shows at least two gunmen firing multiple shots at close range at the front passenger seat of a car as it moves slowly past a crowd. Local media reported that two people were injured, among them Shroff's driver.
Maharashtra's deputy chief minister, Eknath Shinde, visited the actor after the shooting and said Shroff and his mother had been left 'shaken'. 'These attempts to intimidate people will not be tolerated, and we will put an end to this hooliganism,' Shinde said.
The attack has renewed concern about the safety of public figures in India. In 2024, police arrested two members of a criminal gang over a gun attack on the home of actor Salman Khan, and the politician Baba Siddique was shot dead in Mumbai the same year.
The son of two actors, Shroff made his film debut in 2014 with the romance Heropanti and has gone on to star in several films. A keen footballer, he also plays for the professional club Mumbay FC.
